About Mrs.Milis

My name is Natarsha Milis. I am an experienced teacher with many years of contract teaching. I am qualified to work with students R-7, students with disabilities and I also have a counselling degree. I graduated from Magill Uni in August 1994.

I have been lucky enough to work at many schools in and around South Australia, starting my teaching career in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. Some of the schools I worked at were Smithfield Plains, Davoren Park, many of the Elizabeth schools and Dernancourt Primary.

In December 1995 I moved to the lovely seaside town of Middleton with my husband, cats and dogs. We have been lucky enough to live and work in our community for 18 years. We love being involved in our local community, often coaching basketball and softball sides. Since the arrival of our daughter our interests have changed but it hasn’t stopped our involvement in our local community.

Since moving to the area I have been lucky enough to work in most of the schools in the district, including Rapid Bay, Myponga, Yankalilla, Victor and Port Elliot primary schools.

I have been working at Port Elliot Primary School on and off for approximately 13 years. I have had various roles within that time, including classroom teaching and providing various non-contact roles. I have taught many curriculum areas in my diverse roles, which have included PE, Science and Performing Arts. Being a contract person means that my role and placement changes from year to year.

In 2013 I had an amazing R/1 class. Last year was also the first time I had a blog. I found this a great way to document our year and keep all my parents informed of what was happening in the classroom on a weekly basis.

This year my role has changed. I am currently teaching Performing Arts 3 days a week and I am in a Year 2/3 class on the other two days a week. This role has allowed me to once again diversify my skills and I am loving the opportunity to work with all the students at Port Elliot.

I love teaching and learning new ways to engage and encourage the students I work with.
